The Schipperke is a curious dog that is interested in everything around it, gentle and lovable, and can get along well with children; it typically has a long lifespan and is an excellent, loyal watchdog.

It is reserved towards strangers and is always ready to protect its family and property if necessary.

It displays a confident and independent personality, reflecting the breed’s original purpose as a watchdog and for catching vermin and pests.

Although the Schipperke is small in size, it still maintains a combative personality.
