Breed Introduction
The Clumber Spaniel, also known as Clumber Spaniel, originated in the 19th century. The Duke of Newcastle initially obtained breeding dogs from France and later bred them at Clumber Park in his hometown, playing a significant role in the breed’s development in England. Soon after, it became favored by Prince Albert and his son, even King George V was an admirer of this breed.
Today, the breed occupies a significant proportion, living a leisurely life in urban gardens, chasing and foraging for insects and fallen leaves. The Clumber Spaniel is a gentle, loyal, and affectionate dog. It has an inherent desire to please its owner. An intelligent and independent thinker, it shows decisiveness and unique insights in its work.
It is a noble dog, sometimes appearing to avoid humans, while at other times displaying a playful and friendly nature.
