Breed Introduction

　The Cornish Rex is a unique combination of curly hair and a highly affectionate personality. You cannot deny the love, and the Cornish Rex will shower its owners with affection, even if they do not have curly or wavy hair.

　In 1982, on a farm in Oregon near an ancient hunting ground and the fishing grounds of the Wishram Indians, six kittens were born from a barn cat. One of the kittens was born completely hairless – it looked nothing like her mother or her littermates.

　When the kitten was hairless, it had a classic flat pattern on its skin with large widely spaced ears and a patterned style. Within eight weeks, the kitten began to grow very soft, curly hair
