Breed Introduction
The Cairn Terrier, known in Chinese as 凯安梗, has no distinct indentation between its eyes, has medium-length front limbs, small and pointed ears, larger front paws than hind paws, and a strong but not very large muzzle.
Its outer coat is thick, with a dense undercoat.
The name Cairn comes from the meaning of a pile of stones, and it is the smallest breed among working terriers.
In some stone piles in the Scottish Highlands, there are ancient Roman tombstones.
Cairn Terriers are adept at tracking mice and foxes in stone piles and sometimes hunt fierce European cats.
They are charming, lively small terriers, intelligent, loyal, energetic, and friendly, making them ideal family dogs.
Their natural appearance is favored, but the thick outer coat still requires shaping and grooming, and the fine undercoat must also be specially arranged.
