Breed Introduction
The Keeshond’s head is often adorned with ribbons, its body covered with long, silky hair, and it possesses a playful personality typical of terriers. It has a charm reminiscent of the ‘German Shepherd with a golden head.’
Keeshonds were once used to ward off strangers and are a healthy, lively breed that is not intimidated by larger dogs, making them excellent watchdogs and family dogs.
The history of the Keeshond spans less than a hundred years, but what is known is that it is a close relative of the Yorkshire Terrier.
