Breed Introduction
The Keeshond, originating from the Netherlands, is a medium-sized fluffy dog known for its striking coat color and intelligent expression. Its tail curls over its back, and the fur on its chest is fluffy and dense, forming a lion-like mane. Keeshonds have a cheerful temperament, are particularly friendly towards people, possess an excellent memory, and are good at observing things, making them outstanding guard dogs.
They are relatively large but do not take up much space; this type of ancestor dog, which traveled on Dutch ships, is accustomed to curling up into a round shape to save space. Keeshonds are very loyal to their owners and bring endless joy to their keepers.
Although the Keeshond has been one of the most beloved dogs in the Netherlands for centuries, it only gained widespread attention in the latter half of the 18th century due to political changes in the country. The Keeshond has never been used as a hunting dog and has earned a high status in the emotions of the people due to its charming character.
