Breed Introduction
The Miniature Pinscher is a native German breed, and it is not the small Doberman that people often think it is. It has existed for several centuries, and its ancestors are the German Pinscher. The bloodline of the German Pinscher has mixed genes from the Italian Greyhound and the Dachshund.
There is a painting called ‘The Peasant’s Home,’ created in 1640, which is now preserved in the Louvre in Paris. The painting features a dog that closely resembles the Miniature Pinscher. This breed was officially recognized in 1870 and became widely popular in Europe. In 1929, the Miniature Pinscher Club was established in the United States, and this breed thrived more in America than in England.
