Breed Introduction
The Coonhound is effective at capturing raccoons, squirrels, and some animals that play dead.
They also retain the appearance of their ancestors, the English Foxhound.
In fact, the Treeing Walker Coonhound sometimes has to climb trees to catch prey.
However, with a little training, they will use their distinctive barking to inform hunters that the prey is in distress.
This breed is also bred for strenuous physical activity.
Although they are a gentle companion, they are not suitable for city living.
